RECALIBRATE: New Line-Up

Recalibrate is re-emerging in 2024 with lots of new material and new bass player Andrew Mortensen, from Serious Beak, Kurushimi, Slimey Things, Hashshashin and many other progressive and experimental groups. Our drummer Alex O’Toole and I have admired his music for a long time, and we can’t wait to bring this new trio on a small run of shows around NSW:

RECALIBRATE: Name Change

Recalibrate is the new name for my trio with Alex O’Toole and Simeon Bartholomew, formerly known as No Mandate. The band is older than Covid and was named before people started shouting about vaccine and mask mandates. We’d played about 35 shows and made two albums under the name No Mandate, but felt the step was necessary to avoid being associated with this toxic debate. The debut album by my trio with Alex O’Toole and Simeon Bartholomew is out now. Our music is energetic and progressive. The album is out on Bandcamp as well as all the other digital platforms. We also made two video clips:

JOCHEN: New Website

Hello. It’s 2020 and I decided to set up a website under my own name, as a platform for my various creative undertakings. Current projects include Hinterlandt, Recalibrate and Snob Club.

Not listed on this website are things I organise in my capacity as programmer for the Goethe-Institut in Australia, which has its own website.
